PSP Gift Bag for SidB

For my 1st month-a-versary with my husband (then boyfriend) in Dec 2010, I didn't want to give him anything personal (watch, shirt, perfume, etc), as we were dating only for a month, so I decided to buy him PSP video games.

But, as I love wrapping my gift in a special way, I couldn't just hand over the games in regular wrapping, so I created this gift bag for him.

I gave him 3 games - God of War (Ghost of Sparta), Dante's Inferno and Syphon Filter Logan's Shadow (I have no idea what they are about, but his best friend helped me pick them up).
So I chose the pictures from the video game and made the below image to make the bag with.
I, then colour printed the image and folded it into a bag.
For the handle, I chose blue, black and white satin ribbon and braided them into a string, punched holes in the bag and tied the string on the inside.

His reaction: He was clearly more intrigued by the games, than the gift bag!!! (Men will never change)
But I am still glad I made it, and I am posting this on his B'day today, to let him know that I appreciate the support he gives for my craft (even though he didn't pay attention to the bag then).

Blissful Birthday SidB.

Throw your HATs

My younger brother, Vikram graduated from Business School last month, and just last week was the Graduation Ceremony.

For this occasion, I wanted to gift him something special and more importantly, I wanted to wrap it in college/graduation themed gift wrap.

So, keeping in mind the theme, I gift wrapped the gift I got him (Boston Legal All Seasons DVD pack) in this wrapping.

Its a black paper Graduation Hat.

I started by making a box with a lid for the DVD pack. Its a regular box made by wrapping the paper around the pack.

The HAT is made of the same paper, I used a square piece of paper (almost double the size of the box's base) and scored it along the black dotted line and folded and pasted the paper along the white dotted line to make a smaller square piece.

Once the lid of the HAT was dried, I hand made the blue tassel with some spare satin string available at home (will show how I made it in my future post) and pasted it with the help of plastic black button.
And, its done!!!

Status - My brother loved it, but tore it off immediately to get his DVD's out!! I am glad I had taken few photographs earlier at home.

So, go ahead and give this gift wrapping a try, its easy to make and is super cool.

Let me know if you need any help making it, by either mailing me on nishthartimagine@gmail.com or leave your query in the comments.

So, till next time, Adios!!!!

Under the Cowl

I love to wrap my gifts in unique, hand made and personalized wraps, hence when I gifted the comic book 'Batman Under the Cowl' to SID-B (a Batman fanatic), I wrapped it in this Batman themed wrapping.
I started by gathering and color printing batman related images.
For the wings, I found this cloth wings image and cropped it in two. To get the wing's folds accurately, I added dotted lines on the cropped image using coloring tools.

I then covered the comic book with black chart paper till about 70% of the length and cut out all the images gathered.

Finally I pasted all the cut out images - the Batman logo on the front of the black cover, the mask on the inside and the folded wings on the back of the cover.

My DARK KNIGHT is ready to save the GOTHAM CITY!!!!

Origami Shirt Gift Wrapping

I wanted to do wrap Mr.B’s gift in a special wrapping, I wanted something that signifies his stature and my feelings and gratitude towards him.

Hence I wrapped his gift in gold wrapping foil and added silver origami shirt to it.

To give an extra touch and highlight his professional accomplishments, i added a red satin ribbon tie(as CEO’s wear RED tie)

He loved the gift and the packing…

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!

BAGoHOLIC

I made these for the "B" family women to give them sarees in.

I used Jamawaar cloth in 3 colors - black, pink and white with gold as the under tone (as the women were in the age bracket of 77-22 years)

I folded a rectangular piece in half and pasted it with fabric glue, only the bottom is stitched to give extra support to the saree inside.

I ensured that the border of the cloth is at bottom, to give it a complete look.

Once done with it, I punched 2 holes for the handle. Each handle is chosen to match with the bag and is tied on the inside.

I checked every bag,by lifting it with the saree in it, to make sure the bottom doesn't break or the punched holes don't tear.

The pinks ones were given to younger women, the black for middle aged and white ones were for super senior women.
